Versatile skills found in high-growth job paths:
JOB HUNTING TIPS FOR WOMEN:
There are 200+ qualified people looking for YOUR job. How will you distinguish yourself and get noticed by the "hiring squad".
Tip #1 - Fuller Albright says, "Have a (well stocked) GOOD MIND! READ.
Niall Ferguson (Author and frequent TV guest from UK) states that "we have lived through something more than a financial crisis. We have witnessed the death of a planet. Call it Planet FInance." Vanity Fair. Google him . . . Read his thoughts!
Tip #2 - Design and Innovate Your "BRAND" - "what makes you different - expand on it - exaggerate it . . . tout it!
Pay attention to yourself . . . how can you "show" an interviewer something about yourself without having to "say" it - eg: if you're innovative it is better to "SHOW" not "TELL". One of my clients carried her resume in a small cooler and got the job as an event planner for a big company in LA.
Tip #3 - BE TECH SAVVY - use your cell phone to take the interviewer on a "viewable" journey using LINKEDIN, MYSPACE, TWITTER and YOUR WEBSITE (a must today!).
Be aware of the competition between the iPhone and Palm-Pre - do some research - be ready for a little casual discussion AND "have an opinion" - A client of mine was overheard in a restaurant discussing the competitive nature of the cell phone and offered up some advise about what she'd do . . . she got an interview at CNet.
Tip #4 - Wear a SWEATER DRESS!
A new beginning (like a clean sheet of paper) add tasteful jewelry -soft metals (copper, gold, silver) - add color (druzies, garnets, pearls, sapphires and stones). Add YOU! It is OK to compete as a woman in today's market!
If the environment you seek is casual. . . try one of the new sweaters. If you seek a job in an innovative company have parts of your resume printed onto a white sweat shirt. It worked for Jenny - who was hired by an advertising company just a few months ago!
Tip #5 - CONNECT with the interviewer by asking him/her - What quality or talent do you think would best enable you to do what you want and need to do?
Tip #6 - KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION: What quality makes you suitable for this position?
Tip #7 - Network, network, network. Have a party - share your goals - go to conferences, send email updates . . . ask for introductions.
Tip #8 - Do a background check on yourself - don't be caught "unknowing"
A "shy" client (out of loneliness and fear) started her own "job search" table at Starbucks and realized there might be money in networking opportunities . . . she just got funding to start her own business.

SUZIE has an "idea-a-minute" to share with you . . . contact her.
78 Clients have new jobs as a result of Suzie's Image Strategies. In each situation the client was competing with more than 25 interviewees and over 100 applicants.
