Green Trends

Re-create, re-think, recycle, re-buy and re-sell your wardrobe.  Newness can be overrated - OPEN THOSE CLOSET DOORS and look at your wardrobe with creative eyes . . . make a (too) short skirt into a bustier - wear it under a jacket. . .Remove the sleeves from a blazer and wear it as a vest (vests are "Haute" for Spring 09). . . Shorten the sleeves on a blouse - wear a long-sleeve bright colored jersey beneath the blouse so it shows at waist neck and wrist. . .Change the buttons & zippers on your jackets from silver to GOLD . . . Lengthen a cropped jacket by adding a zipper across the bottom and connect it to 5-6 inches of a complimentary fabric.  Mix your prints - plaids and flowers, stripes and plaids, polka dots and stipes.  Mix your textures . . linen with leather, denim with satin.  Put "tuxedo like" stripes down the side of an old pair of black slacks (or jeans) to dress them up for "after 5"!   Put a T-shirt under a blouse and leave the blouse open from the bust down.   Add an interesting braid to the neck and bottom of an old blouse . . .DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME  :) . . .Find a design student at your local University . . . let them create for you!

 Many of you (probably) wear the same things over and over . . . wear something different every day . . . give your look a boost (and those who are "looking" AT you) a reason to look back. 

ON THE RUNWAY . . . coats without sleeves (innovative, new and appropriate for Global Warming).   Coats with sleeves. . . add BIG SHOULDERS!

Fall Trends

Add red, add gold metals, add a belt to an overused suit.  Look for feather earrings to give jeans a new look.

Put an interesting SCARF into your belt loops in lieu of the "usual" belt.

Add gold buttons to jackets . . .
