Mix your prints - plaids and flowers, stripes and plaids, polka dots and stipes. 

Mix your textures . . linen with leather, denim with satin.  Put "tuxedo like" stripes down the side of an old pair of black slacks (or jeans) to dress them up for "after 5"!  

Put a T-shirt under a blouse and leave the blouse open from the bust down.   Add an interesting braid to the neck and bottom of an old blouse. . .Find a design student at your local University . . . let them create for you!

Lengthen a cropped jacket by adding a zipper across the bottom and connect it to 5-6 inches of a textured fabric - like leather or denim.

Many of you (probably) wear the same things over and over . . . wear something colorful or woven today . . . give your look a burst of color and texture (and those who are "looking" AT you) a reason to respond. 

ON THE RUNWAY . . . coats without sleeves (innovative, new and appropriate for Global Warming).   Coats with sleeves of different fabrics. . . add fun to shoulders: epaulets, beading, faux fur, shoulder pads!
